Privacy, in plain words 🔒
BeenThere is a small, open-source project. Here’s exactly what happens with your stuff.
What we keep
- Your email and name (from Google, or what you type).
- The problems you write, whether you solved them, and what worked.
- Who asked who for help, whether they said yes, and if it worked.
- Who you blocked or reported.
Who sees what
- Other people can see your name and the problems you solved, so they can find you. You can switch off “open to help” any time.
- Your email stays hidden. It’s only shared with someone after you accept their help request (and you get theirs).
- Your stuck problems are only shown to people you ask for help.
Who we share it with
- Neo4j: the database where everything is stored.
- Google / Gmail: if you sign in with Google, and to send login and intro emails.
- We never sell your data or show ads.
Your controls
- Change your name or switch off “open to help” on your profile.
- Block or report anyone.
- Delete your account on your profile page. It removes you, your problems and your history for good.
